Frequently Asked Questions About Pet Set Daycare

When should my dog start day care?

Puppy Day Care offers a great chance for your dog to play with other puppies 4 months old and up. This is wonderful for the developing puppy!

Are there any requirements for approving my pet for day care?

At The Pet Set, we conduct an interview process with you and your pet.  Your pet then takes a temperament test.  Once the pet and owners have passed these application requirements, the pet is approved for day care. 

Will my dog socialize with other dogs?

At The Pet Set, your dog will exercise and socialize with other dogs. As a result, you'll have a happy and more fit dog. Activity levels at The Pet Set will also help reduce boredom behaviors such as chewing and barking.

Day Care is a good solution for separation anxiety, youngsters with tons of energy, and older dogs who need to go outside more often. We give medication, lunch (you can bring your own), while your dog is with us and we can accommodate special needs.

Will my dog get exercise while in day care?

The playground equipment at The Pet Set is designed for dogs with different levels of mobility for mental stimulation and confidence building. Many dogs like to be outside, even when the weather is bad, so we go out every day. Other dogs prefer to stay inside, which is fine also. Either way your pet will have plenty of time for exercise.

What if my dog is new to day care?

There is a careful introduction of newcomers in order to keep everyone happy and safe. 

We accept dogs who are 4 months and older.  Your dog must have completed their required shots and have received a bordatella vaccine.  All shots must be kept current by the owner.   Required shots for dogs include: DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella, Corona.

We take any breed of dog, but must require that any male dog 6 months or older be neutered.  Any female dog must be spade.

All pets must come in wearing a collar with a name tag and current rabies tags attached.

Can I have my pet groomed or bathed while in day care?

As with children, your pet can get dirty playing all day so we offer optional bathing service for our guests. If you wish to have your pet bathed or groomed, please make arrangements for this before dropping it off for day care. We typically do our Day Care animals late in the day so they go home looking the best they can.

What happens if I am running late to pick up my pet?

We close at 7:00 pm, Monday – Saturday and at 5:00 pm on Sunday. After long days of play, we all are tired, so please be prompt when picking up your pet.  A late fee will be applied for every 15 minutes of delay. If you know you are running late, please be kind enough to give us a call ahead of time.

We flea spray the building and grounds with pet friendly all natural products, along with the checking  dogs regularly.  However, it is best to have your dog on a flea preventative. See our front desk staff for this service.
